A BUTTERFLY EMERGES!

What an exciting day in Room 3. It has been three weeks and one day since Mr. Caterpillar snuggled up in his cocoon. Our timing was perfect today, we were just back in the classroom from our afternoon session of PMP when the butterfly was emerging from its cocoon. We were all so thrilled to see this amazing transformation. This is what the children had to say - EZRA"our butterfly has come out", SAM"Wow I've got wings!", BAILY"The children in Room 3 called me BUTTER FLUTTER", TUI"It went from egg to caterpillar to chyrsalis and now we have a butterfly", LACHLAN"I think the butterfly is happy to be out of his cocoon, he wont be squashed anymore", BENJAMIN "the butterfly is stretching his wings", TRINISHA"I think he is surprised", BROOKE"The butterfly is a monarch butterfly", JEREMY"It's wings are getting bigger and wider", SOPHIE"I was excited to see the butterfly today".

Discovery Time - 16 March 2012

Discovery Time on March 16th was all about following instructions. We had lots of fun activities set up, which included, making pancakes, following colouring instructions, sequencing maths equipment, and several craft activities. The children did a great job of following instructions and creating all sorts of fun things.

Best Class in Assembly!

Well done to Room 1 and Room 3 for being chosen as the BEST CLASS in the whole school assembly today.  What an exciting assembly it was with the Rugby World Cup coming to Redwood School.  COOL!

Rooms 1 and 3 enjoyed grasshopper tennis

Over the past 4 weeks Room 1 and Room 3 have enjoyed learning some tennis skills at grasshopper tennis. We had our last session today. We've learnt lots of racket and ball skills as well as enjoying the sessions.

Discovery Time 2/3/12

We have a ton of fun at Discovery Time on Friday afternoons.  Discovery Time is an activity based programme where the children explore the key competencies.  This week our focus was on Relating To Others.  We were asking other children to join in with our activities.  Tui, Ezra, Brooke, Sophie and Baily were having fun playing shops.  Trinisha and Meki were busy painting the fence.
