Striking with the feet

Our PE focus this term has been kicking, foot dribbling and trapping, all skills using our feet.  It's been hard going as the weather hasn't always allowed us to get outside.  With such a wonderful sunny day today we made the most of it and headed outside to put some of these skills to use.

We played a fun game in teams called Spiders.  The spiders were in their webs (the hoops) and were trying to steal the ball from the dribblers.

It was fun!

Sparkly Writing!

We were inspired by a photo of fireworks this week!  The children wrote some great stories -

I like the fireworks.  They are colourful.  They explode.  They look pretty.  I like them.
Daniella

The fireworks go boom.  The sparklers go sparkle and the sparklers are on a stick.  I made a smiley face.  Tommy almost hurt himself but he dropped it and the grass went on fire.
Lachlan

I was going in the car to see some fireworks.  It was over the water.  And my friends and family came too.
Eddie

I saw the fireworks on the ship.  And I was eating a hot dog and hot chips.  I was eating it when I was watching the fireworks.  I don't like the fireworks because it is noisy.  It made a booming sound.  It looks like the colours of the rainbow.
Tui

I saw fireworks and I brought my glow stick and it was pink.  My family came with me.  I watched on the sand.  I heard a song it was my favourite, it was Katy Perry.  It was awesome because my favourite part is she has pink hair.
Trinisha

I went somewhere that there was fireworks and games.  I saw a man that juggles flames.  I was scared when the fireworks pictures came up.  I played a game that you have to put the ball in the mouth.
J.J

I love fireworks because they sparkle.  And I lit one.  I love fireworks they are super awesome.  And I like the fireworks because they are cool.
Brooke

I love fireworks because they are pretty.  I did my fireworks at my beach house.  I brought my dogs.  I had fun.  My dogs and my cousins dog were afraid of the fireworks.
Sophie

Fireworks burst like fire drops, they sparkle bright.  I like the fireworks because they sound like thunder.  It was at my house on my 5th birthday.  It was night.  My Dad and Hayden and Lauren lit the fireworks.
Ezra

The fireworks are colourful and noisy.
Jeremy

I went to a party and I saw fireworks.  When I was home I got some fireworks.  A firework exploded.
Georgie

My Dad let off some fireworks.  It made a person and dolphin.  They made lots of colours.  My cousin came and we had lollies.  He liked the fireworks too.
Benjamin

I had a firework.  It stopped working.  All of my friends fireworks were working.
Katherine

The fireworks had bright colours and the fireworks made different shapes like trianges and squares.  I watched the fireworks with my Mum and Dad and I saw red and yellow and green.  The fireworks made a big booming sound and I saw the fireworks out of the window.
Kudzanai

Fireworks do a big booming sound.  I don't like the booming sound but I like the colours.
Sam

The fireworkds are beautiful because I like fireworks because they light up.  I really like fireworks.  I saw them on TV and the day I saw them was a Saturday.

What a fun week!

What a great week it has been!  So many exciting things.

We had our first ukelele lesson with Shane, we learnt to strum down with our fingers and up with our thumbs.

We also had our first visit with Jane and Harold from Life Education.  We are learning about Air to Live.

Harold took a bit of a shine to Benjamin!

AND we did some great shopping using our place value knowledge to help us...

Enjoy the weekend everyone, looking forward to seeing what fun next week brings!
